AI Skills and Marketing Jobs: How Much is Enough?
Last month, I found myself unexpectedly on the job market. My first thought? Dive into new AI tools, master the ones I knew, and brace myself for a barrage of AI-related interview questions.
With some extra time, I embarked on a tech adventure. I tested new tools and used ChatGPT for everything—from drafting emails to venting about the weather. Fun fact: ChatGPT is way more patient than my husband. 😉Armed with newfound AI knowledge, I felt ready to impress any interviewer.
So far, I’ve chatted with recruiters and hiring managers from over 20 companies. Some had suitable job openings; some didn't. To my surprise, AI rarely came up in our conversations.
It makes sense, though. AI is evolving at lightning speed and getting seamlessly woven into our marketing tools. What companies really want is solid expertise in the field. The knack for using AI is becoming a baseline skill, not the main attraction.
The technology is thrilling! While job hunting wasn't on my agenda, I’m making the most of this unique chance to explore AI's ever-changing landscape. And yes, I still complain to my digital friend about the weather, which my husband greatly appreciates. 😁
